top picks under $35
Issue 08: for when the budget just isn't there
If you got forwarded this email, or got it be accident, why not stick around? Also, are these emails making it to your inbox?
In the last few years, I’ve noticed the prices of the clothing I buy going up and up and up. Part of it comes from actually making money now (and not just spending it) and part of it comes from efforts to buy more ethically and sustainably.
Still, if you’ve gotten any of my other newsletters, you know I love a good deal. Why pay more when you don’t have to?
In honor of the hunt (which some have called a sport) for a good deal, I’ve curated some of my favorite finds out there under $35. It’s still a lot, but maybe can you get a lot too.
Top picks for the end of summer ( <$35)
Linen is HUGE this summer and Uniqlo does it best. Linen button up for $30 (wear like a jacket) and shorts for $20.
The one shoulder is still here but as it gets chillier, you may even want a full sleeve over. Princess Polly’s got a classic black option for $32 that can make you look like a “baddie” (plus you can use a 20% off code from any youtuber ever).
A thermal can do you no wrong in the transition from summer to fall, no matter where you are. Aritzia’s got the best IMO and I’ve tried manyyy – pick one of these pretty colors for $35.
Going to throw two to A&F because they have incredible basics – first is a high neck black tank ($19) that looks great with a sweater tied over; second is a paint splatter hoodie ($34.50) from the men’s section that is ready for that bundling up.
Bonus: If you’re looking for any cute dresses, Reformation is having an up to 70% off sale and this black midi dress is $38.40 and all sizes in stock. 👀
Can you tell I’m ready for fall? Maybe I’m just looking for a time when staying inside is what you want to be doing.
Recent pickups 🎉
I had a paycheck and now I don’t! Here’s where some of it went.
Aritzia The Little Puff – Remember my near-miss with the Lululemon puffer a couple weeks back? Well, I found a better one that’s super warm, cute, and was somehow still cheaper at full price.
Aritzia Calipso Button-Up – A cute Hawaiian shacket I picked up in their sale section to get to that free shipping threshold. ;)
UO Confetti Sweater – Used my $5 credit I got from writing generic reviews on the UO app on this cropped sweater. Don’t usually do sweaters but it goes with all of my bottoms: blue, white, and black jeans; red pants; brown pants; and overalls. Not many tops can do that. (plus got it in the 40% off sale last week) 💸
Cool find of the week 🍒
A sweater tie top that you can do in a bunch of different ways (bow in the back, on the side, etc.), able to fit a range of sizes, and can even be word over a button-up in case it’s cold. Engineer at its finest IMO.
See ya next week! x Iris
